Novus Media was founded by Evan Poh and co-founded by Jerry Foo with one mission — to tell stories that truly matter. Our Story
Every story begins with a moment of change. For Evan Poh, that moment came when he stepped away from engineering to pursue something that stirred him more deeply — storytelling. For Jerry Foo, it was the realization that media should be more than just beautiful pictures or polished videos. Together, they founded Novus Media in Miri, Sarawak, with a shared conviction: that stories have the power to influence, to inspire, and to move people beyond the screen.
In the early days, Novus Media started with weddings, events, and brand projects. But even then, the heart behind the work was the same — to capture not only what happened, but why it mattered. With every frame, we asked: Will this moment mean something to someone, today and tomorrow? That guiding question shaped our approach, turning simple documentation into meaningful storytelling.
What began as two storytellers with a camera has grown into a company that mentors new creatives, collaborates with communities, and dreams bigger with every project. From intimate love stories to commercials, from short films to creative campaigns, we’ve always believed media can do more than impress — it can leave a lasting impact.
Our journey hasn’t been without challenges. In Miri, where the film and creative industry is still growing, many people question the value of investing in storytelling. But that only fuels our drive. Novus Media exists to show that stories matter — that behind every brand, every couple, every community, there is a voice worth amplifying.
